The vinyl version of HOOFFOOT's self-titled debut, features just two long instrumental journeys through a wide spectrum of musical emotions. These two songs have captured a broad spectrum of the artistic intentions of HOOFFOOT, from soft melodies to furious free-form energy. It´s like a good crime novel that you can´t put aside until you find out how it ends. The technicians involved in the making of this 100% analog record are some of the most famous masterminds of Swedish musical history. The album has been recorded live in a spontaneous atmosphere with award winning producer Christoffer Lundquist (Roxette, Brainpool). Mastering and vinyl engraving was executed at the legendary Atlantis studio in, Stockholm, by Janne Hansson (ABBA). The cover art is by famous Swedish artist Bengt Böckman who have created album covers for Frank Zappa and Klaus Doldinger (Passport). Forget about labels like "rock", "jazz", "progressive" and "kraut". Who cares? Ever noticed that music inspired by the great years around 1970 rarely manage to capture the spirit of the 70's? Sure, there are lots of bands with vintage clothes, vintage instruments and vintage (facial) hair styles. However, the spirit of the 70's is usually missing. That spirit is what the Malmö band Hooffoot set out to capture with its debut album. Although even a quick listen will reveal that there are plenty of odd time signatures, Hammond organ, fuzz bass and weird percussion in Hooffoot's music, the objective was not to recreate the music of the sounds of the 70's. Hooffoot is firmly of the opinion that the spirit of the 70's can only be properly honored by embracing the attitude that there are no rules.
