Jaco Pastorius = LP = (LP)
The short life and death of Jaco Pastorius is a tragic one. After a successful career with some of the biggest names in Jazz Fusion, such as Weather Report, Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny, Jaco was celebrated as one of the best, and sometimes 'The Best' Electric Bass players in the world. But in a short succession of events involving the divorce from his wife and fast growing mental health problems as well as the lack of work as a musician around the mid eighties forcing him to live homelessly on the streets, Pastorius' spiral into self destructive behavior began. Tragically, an altercation with a bouncer, after being refused entry into a night club in the US, lead to him being heavily beaten by the bouncer resulting in him falling into a coma and days later, causing a brain hemmorage. Jaco Pastorius, arguably the most influential bass player on the earth, died at age 35.
