Let's Rock & Roll The Place (CD)
Eddie Money first appeared on the scene as a bar band rocker, before becoming an early MTV favorite during both the early and latter '80s. While there are quite a few extensive Eddie Money collections on the market (namely Columbia/Legacy's 2001 release The Best of Eddie Money), if you're looking for a budget-priced sampler that contains a handful of favorites, Let's Rock & Roll the Place fits the bill. Included is his breakthrough hit -- the late-'70s FM standard "Baby Hold On," as well as "Think I'm in Love" and "Walk On Water," both of which garnered some serious airplay on MTV. But what prevents this ten-track set from being a definitive collection is the omission of such shoulda-beens as "Shakin'" and especially his duet with Ronnie Spector, "Take Me Home Tonight," which was probably the biggest hit of Money's career. And because of that, Let's Rock & Roll the Place is an average sampler, nothing more.
