Desert Places (CD)
Originally released in 1974, looks to be this German progressive band's very first record. Not something I would want to give a spin everyday but might be fun to pull off the shelf time and again. Tunes I was sort of impressed with were the title track "Desert Places", maybe "Seasons Of Life" and the almost all-too-good thirteen-minute "Perception". I thought the playing through out this disc was full-hearted, I mean the players appeared to be taking their job very professionally like. Personnel: Dieter Roesberg-guitar, flute, sax & vocals, Thomas Bruck-bass & vocals, Gerald Dellman-keyboards and Horst Schattgen-drums. Should appeal to most fans of Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull, Iron Butterfly and Deep Purple.
