The Best Of = Japanese edition = (CD)
The 2002 Japanese release The Best of Aerosmith concentrates on the group's Geffen recordings from the '80s and '90s, so there's no "Walk This Way," "Dream On," "Sweet Emotion" -- none of their big '70s staples. Instead, this has "Amazing," "What It Takes," "Janie's Got a Gun," and "Rag Doll" among its 18 tracks, and those are the only big hits: the rest are reasonably well-chosen album tracks, which is enough to make this a reasonably enjoyable sampler if hardly a definitive one. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
