Fifty years after the release of their eponymous debut album in 1967, Ten Years After are back with "A Sting in the Tale". Original members Ric Lee and Chick Churchill, joined by Colin Hodgkinson on bass and multi-award winning guitarist and vocalist Marcus Bonfanti, wanted to record a studio album that would showcase the new line-up that had toured the world to great acclaim as Ten Years After.
"A Sting in the Tale" was produced and recorded by Bonfanti at his Cricklewood Green studios in Cricklewood, North London. Each member met with Bonfanti individually and used him as a "central writing hub" to develop the songs before they were polished into Ten Years After songs in rehearsals with the whole band. The album's themes range from childhood memories of growing up in post-war Britain to songs about the lost love of the rock'n'roll lifestyle and heartfelt odes to a life well lived.
