Young And Rich (CD)
"Young And Rich" is the second studio album by the American rock band The Tubes from 1976. At the time, The Tubes consisted of Fee Waybill (vocals), Bill Spooner (guitar, vocals), Roger Steen (guitar, vocals), Michael Cotten (synthesizer), Vince Welnick (keyboards), Rick Anderson (bass guitar) and Prairie Prince (drums). The album combines various musical styles such as rock, glam rock and theatrical elements typical of The Tubes. Their music often contains satirical and humorous lyrics. The album was produced by Ken Scott, a renowned producer who has previously worked as a producer with artists such as David Bowie, Supertramp and Kansas and as a sound engineer for The Beatles, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Procol Harum, Duran Duran, to name but a few. Some notable tracks from this album are "Don't Touch Me There" and "Slipped My Disco". "Don't Touch Me There", a duet between Fee Waybill and singer, dancer and visual artist Re Styles, became one of the band's best-known songs. "Young and Rich" is an example of how The Tubes combined their music with theatrical performances and satirical content, which set them apart from other bands of the 1970s.
