Chausseestrasse 131 (CD)
The cover title should say: I may be banned, but I have a name and address in the middle of Berlin-Mitte, easy for friend and foe to find
The Hamburg singer-songwriter and lyricist Wolf Biermann was forced to make the recordings in his apartment, as all studios were closed to him in the former GDR. So he used background noises from the street in these first recordings: dogs, children, cars and streetcars as an artistically authentic expression of the ban: the "cool Chausseestraße sound".
