Repress. The trio was founded in late 2011 by Fredrik Bolzann, leader of avant-garde black metal band Darvulia and former bassist of Malhkebre, who recruited bassist Lo Klav and drummer Niko Lass to help him realize his doomy dreams.
Witchthroat Serpent tread very similar ground to Witchsorrow or the first Electric Wizard album, while sounding refreshingly different and instantly familiar. We have a feeling that their eerie, heavy sound will make doom fans all over the world very happy... The main success of Witchthroat Serpent's self-titled doom debut lies in the contrast between the harsh vocals and the fuzzy guitars, both produced by Fredrik Bolzann.
