It appears I selected Lord Vulture's Live 'Em Up concert recordings simply to make a linguistic quip, yet there's more to it. Back in the early nineties, upon unearthing Iron Maiden (and, to a jocose extent, Gwar) from fellow nerdy classmates, I madly pedalled to nearest Sam The Record Man to buy my first CDs ever, both the immortalized Powerslave and subsequent Live After Death. Little did I know the latter was basically an absorption of the former, with a few golden oldies thrown in for good measure. It's funny looking at it now but at the time, I was rather contrite, simultaneously feeling blessed to discover such melodically stimulating music while falling short, quantity wise. This is probably why I'm not the biggest live album fan, despite stumbling into odd gems like Thin Lizzy's extensive Live And Dangerous, UFO's hyper-dexterous Strangers In The Night or Vardis' bonkers 100 M.P.H.
