In Abacab, their move from progressive to pop is more evident. Their roots are not forgotten, but they're used in different ways. It's not like Duke, where those two genres combine and nearly complement each other, this is a step towards pop, bringing an overall good result.
This is the first Genesis record that is fully produced by the band only. It actually brings a pretty good result. I like it a lot and I enjoy it. There's a lot more of a harmony between each member's collaboration, and it shows, as only three songs were not written by the full band.
