Tip Of The Tongue (CD)
Danish rocker Dennis Develin claims he makes old school cock rock anthems and has been involved in many top Danish bands including Sticky Sweet and Pure Innocence. In fact his song 'Ladies of the Eighties' was the most downloaded song from the compilation CD 'Hollywood Hairspray' which featured Pretty Boy Floyd, Enuff 'z' Nuff and Crash Diet! This release was recorded at Jailhouse Studios and mastered and mixed by Tommy Hansen who has worked with Helloween, TNT and Pretty Maids which really puts Dennis in pretty good company! He handles all vocals and bass guitar while Jonas Roxx has taken care of guitar and drums. The production is both powerful and clear as opening number 'All You Got' fires out the speakers and is not too dissimilar to Bonfire but the strain in the vocal department is at odds with the song; indeed this is my main problem here in that Dennis does not really possess a voice strong enough to do his songs justice. Luckily, however, 'Backseat Fighter' has a strong chorus of backing vocals that propels the song along well and is also from the Accept guitar school of riffery and is a stand out track on this release.
