The Electric Spanking Of War Babies = LP = (LP)
George Clinton's empire was crumbling in the early 1980s. Legal woes, financial disputes and a slew of personnel problems had all befallen Dr. Funkenstein and he was struggeling to keep the Mothership afloat.
Virtually all members of the original group were gone come 1981. Jerome 'Bigfoot' Brailey had started his own band, tellingly called Mutiny; the original Parliaments Fuzzy Haskins, Grady Thomas and Calvin Simon had temporarily gotten hold of the Funkadelic name and released an album on their own; Bernie Worrell had called it a day and Bootsy was about to land himself in professional limbo. Aside that, P-Funk legends Glen Goins and Tiki Fulwood had both passed away; in 1978 and 1979 respectively.
Nevertheless, Clinton's nose for talent secured a last, great Funkadelic LP, even if by now the album credits almost took up the entire sleeve.
