By 1986, Blackie Lawless and W.A.S.P. had accomplished a lot in a relatively short period of time. However, the studio-road-studio-road meat grinder mentality of the music business (not to mention the constant harassment that came with being the PMRC's favorite whipping boys) had begun to wear on Blackie and the band, necessitating yet another lineup change. Guitarist Randy Piper was out, and Blackie took his place by moving over from bass to guitar.
