While bands like Yes and Emerson, Lake & Palmer did the same and leaned more towards the rock side, Renaissance tended to lean more toward the classical side. The highlight of the band was the amazing beautiful voice of Annie Haslam. It has been said that her vocal range covered 5 octaves. Their style of music worked very well with an orchestra, I was lucky to see them perform twice with the Rochester Philharmonic in the late 70s. Their live shows were phenomenal and this recording captures them at their best. The remastered CD is a real treat, and the quality is quite good!
