This album was recorded on 26 December 1972 at a New York radio show. It features tracks from his time with the Velvet Underground as well as the later successes of his solo career. It mainly anticipates recordings from his later most successful album "Transformer" produced by David Bowie.
The New York audience always made him feel at home. The band seems a little more careful here than other musicians around Lou, and so the elegant and deft guitar riffs and drum fills give the recording a thrilling tension and liveliness that he rarely allowed later.
