Crash = LP; Splatter = (LP)
Crash is one of the true legends of the Polish jazz & rock stage. The music of the group evolved with members coming in and out and with circumstances of the day, but it was always of the highest quality. This is no different in the case of this debut material, recorded in the late spring of 1978, at the studio of the Polish Radio in Opole and released by Wifon Records on audio tape. You can clearly hear the inspirations followed by musicians - individuals with great technical skills and huge musical imagination; fascinations with Herbie Hancock, Return to Forever or Weather Report can be heard in compelling, own compositions (e.g. in powerful "Ko?cówka banderoli" or in the speedy Latino "Akelei"), and in some other interesting interpretations of Chick Corea ("Nite Sprite") and Freddy Hubbard ("Baraka Sasa"). All of this adds up to make an album which should have already had a well-deserved place in the canon of the Polish jazz.
