ELYSION is Gothic Metal band from Athens, Greece, formed in 2006. They released a demo in 2007, promotional piece in and a debut album "Silent Scream" in 2009, "Killing My Dreams" EP in 2012 and here they go with a second album "Someplace Better".
"Made Of Lies" produced that cold modern chill, gradually building up into a Gothic riffed song, kind of like LACUNA COIL, a measure a sensitiveness of the vocal line inspired as of EVANESCENCE and MADONNA. In "What Lies Beneath" there is a fine display of keyboards, nifty riffery, greyish edges of WITHIN TEMPTATION along with the cracks of the title song "Someplace Better", heaving with a memorable melodic divinity. I could notice similar to annotations to Amy Lee through the depths of "Awake", same was distinguished within the chorus of "Our Fate". Worth to listen are also: "Fairytale" with a catchy chorus and keyboards' action similar to H.I.M. climate and the heavier "In Despair". "Transparent" established the soft spot with charming vocals and brilliant song craft.
"Someplace Better" is Gothic Metal with twitches, stretching the boundaries just a bit to be a little unique. Generally there is strong vibe, melodic creativeness, enough to draw the listener more and more. None will be disappointed.
