The Awful Disclosures Of Maria Monk + 2 bonus tracks. (CD)
Originally released 1969. CD + 2 bonus tracks. Fantastic Early UK Prog. The only record of this British band was released in January 1969 by Pye Records and no doubt its one of the most interesting but also the most underrated progressive albums of an era. Their music is a typical example of late-psych/early-prog underground stuff, with tasty guitar work, nices flute and saxophone passages, occasional Hammond organ work, trippy vocals and swinging, but very powerfull rhythm section. It can be compared to early Jethro Tull (circa 1968), East Of Edens debut LP and first two Family albums. Sadly, the lack of promotion and poor album sales brought an end to one of the most impressive bands of those times. A few years later vocalist/guitarist Rik Kenton played bass in Roxy Music on their classic irginia Plainsingle. This CD edition was mastered from the original.
