A new remastered 2CD collection of all recordings by Detroit psychedelic rock band Frijid Pink released on the Decca label Deram between February 1970 and December 1971.
Frijid Pink formed in Detroit, Michigan in the late 1960s from the ashes of the cover band The Detroit Vibrations. The band included Gary Thompson (guitar), Kelly Green - a stage name for Tom Beaudry (vocals), Tom Harris (bass) and Rick Stevers (drums). With their form of hard psychedelic rock and blues, they soon became known in Michigan, where the band performed with other bands such as MC5, The Stooges and The Amboy Dukes.
Their hard, fuzzy cover of the song "The House Of The Rising Sun" was released as a single in early 1970 and reached the top ten in the U.S.; it was a top five hit in the U.K. and a number one single in Germany. The single appeared on their impressive self-titled debut album, released in January 1970, which brought the band much attention.
