Wallner has composed and produced seven pragmatically numbered tracks, although one looks in vain for pragmatism here, as the never overloaded opulence is an integral part of his music. "Voices" is, of course, first and foremost a guitar album, but it doesn't hold bluntly strung together fretboard cabinet pieces, but follows a narrative, a kind of undertow under, between and behind the tracks: they are interwoven and related to each other and continuously tell a coherent story. Arpeggiated sythnie cascades and condensed riffing here provide the easel for epic singing solos, which Wallner audibly enjoys.
