Polish library music in its big beat manifestation: two unpublished recording sessions of Czerwono-Czarni band, recorded in 1963-64 and next extensively used as soundtracks in the newsreels of the Polish Film Chronicle, surprise with their diversity and their sounds, heavily dominated by guitars. In 1963, Czerwono-Czarni was a band with a proven record and a promoter of an increasing number of soloists. It would stay that way for the remaining days of that decade. Although in later years the band was mainly associated with mainstream music, smoothed and polished to fit entertainment needs, its records for the Documentary Film Studio beam with the musicians' powerful energy and youthful pep. They performed instrumental arrangements of their hits of the day (e.g. "Dwudziestolatki", "O mnie si? nie martw" or "Motor i ja") along with music pieces which from the outset were thought of as instrumental compositions. The latter included recordings which followed the formula successfully promoted by The Shadows (fine arrangement of "Prz??niczka" by Wies?aw Bernolak) and the themes with the leading saxophone ("Podarunek" or blues-like "Morzyczyn"), plus the iconic "Pod papugami" by Mateusz ?wi?cicki - in two versions!
