Transmission Zero (CD)
Ghoul's niche is something I hold dear to my heart. They play thrash metal and
have an affinity for everything bloody, creepy and deathly! I'm a fan of all the
above; therefore, Ghoul has a constant presence in my CD player. Every time I listen
to them, I imagine the walls covered in blood and the mischievous creatures of
Creepsylvania are lurking around me, breathing down my neck. As much as I love
them, I hope they don't come on my iPod while I'm driving because I go ape s***.
It's not good for anybody.
Transmission Zero is the band's fourth full-length album and its intensity and
furiousness picks up from where We Came for the Dead!!! and Maniaxe left off.
While their third full-length album, Splatterthrash, was great in its own right, it met
with mixed reviews because many didn't feel the aforementioned aspects of the
music were present. So for those who weren't sure about this album, rest assured
that they're back and unleashing their brand of gory, blood drenched thrash on the
masses.
The entire album is flawless, but for those with an especially insatiable bloodlust,
check out "Blood Feast," Off with Their Heads," "The Lunatic Hour," The Mark of
Voodoo" and "Tooth and Claw."
