Crying Moon = Digipack = (CD)
"Crying Moon" is characterized by the melodies and the heavy sound. Psychotic has created some truly beautiful guitar and keyboards melodies. The general heaviness of the album, coming from the hard-hitting drumming (lots of double bass drum action), the guitar riffs and the brutal vocals, blends nicely with all the melodic depressive or intense parts. The brutal almost vocals and the muddy production create a nice and interesting antithesis and the self-titled track is the perfect example of that. I'd say that with the melodic guitars and the almost omnipresent keyboards the music would be better described as "melodic Power" or "Gothic" instead of "Symphonic", while the heavier and faster moments (although those aren't as many as you might think) are closer to the classic Heavy Metal genre.
"Crying Moon" is a pretty good album and I am sure one can enjoy it granted he will ignore the labels describing the music avoiding to be misguided and have different expectations. Surely, this is not something that will rock your world, but it is a solid and well-written album that will satisfy those who enjoy the melodic side of Metal.
