Bayou Country = 40th Anniversary = (CD)
Since the band didn't get much critical respect from their debut, it stands to reason that something would come from this one. After all, its the album that would eventually launch them to stardom (so to speak,) and end up crediting John Fogerty with that genre known as swamp rock (among others.) It moved away from the typical psych rock sound of the 1960's that the self-titled had towards something with a little more soul and swagger. In 1969, Southern rock as we knew it had not become a genre or movement, and you can fairly well guess that this would be one of the early influences on that soon to be genre.
