No Regrets No Remorse (CD)
Tree, hailing from Boston, MA, let loose a firestorm of fury on their fifth full-length album, No Regrets No Remorse. No Regrets marks the band's sophomore effort on the independent Wonderdrug Records and is quite possibly the strongest release to date for this hardcore quartet. No Regrets No Remorse is a punk album deep at heart, with its rapid-fire drumbeats and attitude, but listeners will detect metal, hardcore, and even a dash of good old-fashioned rock & roll in the mix. Guitarist Ooze drenches the album in groove-heavy riffs that keep the music surging from the beginning of the explosive opening track, "Cold and Alone," straight through until the final moments of "Stuck on Stupid." "Great Galactic Ghoul" shares a familiarity and groove to Southern rockers Clutch and is definitely one of the better songs on this stupendous album. "Rock Star" has a taste of the ongoing nu-metal craze sweeping the nation and beats itself mercilessly into the listener's cranium. The lyrical content of the album has the essence of the average Joe, and the band follows suit. Tree certainly doesn't have egos of any sort, which makes their music that much easier to digest. If you are a fan of Biohazard, Anthrax, or Sam Black Church, take the time to check out Tree's No Regrets No Remorse. It is a down-to-Earth hardcore album that can live up to any hype and should make a beneficial addition to one's album collection.
