Seeds Of Devastation (CD)
Blessed with a good, heavy and solid sound, eleven full-fledged death metal hammers are aimed at you. Every death metal fan has to love this. The vocals are low and and varied. The guitars are tuned low and the double bass drums keep drumming on. Sitting still is not easy, every song is like a sledgehammer that blows you out of your chair. Comparisons? A Bolt Thrower on speed is a nice description I think. But where Bolt Thrower a bulky, all crushing Tiger tank, this album of Postmortem is a Leopard with a 10 litres turbo diesel, continuously firing at anyone who stands in the way. Surprisingly melodious is 'Nocturnal Prayer'. A ballad? No way, do not worry. This is a dark and repulsive track. Where many death/thrash bands make the mistake of appearing hesitating or sounding too soft, Postmortem does sound very different. This is brutal and very convincing ('So Cold', listen to this song and you're convinced as well).
This is top class death metal as it should: fast, mid tempo, blunt, heavy, dirty, and entertaining.
At a gig, I advise you to get as far away from the pit as you can, it is almost inevitable that it will result in a brutal massacre. Yes, this album is an asset to the genre...purchasing is obliged.
