On 'Voodoo Lounge' The Rolling Stones keep on moving towards a pure Rock sound in a more modern outfit, so it is definetly still in the vein of the predecessor 'Steel Wheels', but with less 80's in it.
Like on the predecessor, most of this album is simple Stones fun, nothing earth shattering is going on here, just a band playing good together and producing a good album. Obviously this results in being kind of inoffensive and forgettable, which this album is and much more so than 'Steel Wheels'.
