Post Self = LP, Blue = (LP)
You don't have to go all the way back to Jim Morrison and The Doors to realize that a strained relationship with your parents can be inspiring for your own artistic work. Now, Godflesh have neither reinvented "The End", nor have they reworked the Oedipus myth, but their songs also deal with difficult family constellations and refer to themes such as obsessions, anxiety, depression, fear or mortality.
The creative process for "Post Self" took more than two years. The album takes Godflesh, who have always been very versatile, further away from metal. It incorporates various influences and is more reminiscent of post-punk and industrial.
