Epsilon (CD)
Very enjoyable album from this little known German act. There is a real feel of late 60 British beat music that reminds me of Georgie Fame. The vocalist has a rough texture to his voice and doesn't actually sound like Fame but there is something about him that recalls the kind of blues-rock that Fame was doing in 1969. The meld of the beat sound with early German Prog produces a nice combination, little evident in other acts of the time. There is plenty of Hammond to satisfy my needs and the overall writing is more than competent. A cover of the Stones classic "Paint it Black" shows their ability to improvise around a standard tune. Good stuff.
