The Sound Of Music = LP = (LP)
The idea for their version of "The Sound of Music" (German: "Meine Lieder - meine Träume", one of Hollywood's most successful music films ever) came about after Laibach were invited to perform in North Korea in 2015. At the concert in Pyongyang, the band played several songs from the soundtrack of the 1965 film, which is also one of the best-known and most popular films in the People's Republic.
Laibach's performance in North Korea was documented by director, artist and cultural diplomat Morten Traavik in the film "Liberation Day", which has now been released on iTunes following its premiere for Storyville on BBC4. Additional recordings for the album were made in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The album is another collaboration between Laibach and Silence (Primo Hladnik and Boris Benko), who were also responsible for Laibach's 2006 album "Volk".
