Fates Warning will release their new album "Long Day Good Night" via Metal Blade Records. The new single "Scars" offers a first taste of the album.
Fates Warning have been an established authority on progressive metal for over 35 years. The band has had a major influence on the style and has developed it further without compromising its integrity or losing its significance. Now in 2020 they present the most expansive, longest album of their eventful career in the form of "Long Day Good Night". "Stylistically, the music we've written for it is different from the rest of our repertoire," explains vocalist Ray Alder. "Some songs contain electronic elements, others feel pleasantly weightless, and some groove relatively straightforward even by our standards, not to mention several rather hard numbers. We've tried to keep the variety as wide as possible so that people don't get the impression that they're listening to one and the same song all the time" In this respect, the album is a metaphorical rollercoaster ride, as the mood is constantly changing, and is probably the group's most varied work to date.
