Jomsviking (CD)
Amon Amarth have always been known for thematizing the world of the Vikings and Norse mythology in their lyrics. The death metal scene likes it and so the Swedes present their tenth studio album in 2016 with "Jomsviking".
In contrast to the predecessors, this time it is a real concept album. The story is told by a member of the Jomswikinger - a legendary mercenary band of the Vikings. After he learns that his beloved has been married to someone else, he swears revenge and tries to win back his beloved. The story begins with a murder of passion, the first single of "Jomsviking": "First Kill".
