Monster On A Leash was recorded in 1991, with debut lead vocalist Tom Bowes, a fitting addition to the band. Even though this album might not be what T.O.P. fans expected at the time, it is considered an album that confirms yet again the constant quality for which T.O.P. is famous for. After some troubled times due to music demands and their determination to continue their style and not replacing their horn section with keyboard synthesizers, Tower of Power is back in form on this album. Monster of a Leash is full of catchy lyrics and funky melodies; "Funk the Dumb Stuff" and "You Can't Fall Up" have that unmistakable 70's T.O.P. sound combined with T.O.P 80's style on "Attitude Dance" and "How Could This Happen". This album is a demonstration of excellent musicianship, an absolute Monster on a Leash! Must have and not to be passed at any time by any one.
