"Whatcha Gonna Do?" is the fourth solo album by Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green, the third in his middle period of the late 1970s and early 1980s. If you look at this period of Peter Green's solo career, this is one of the best albums
All the tracks on the album were written by Green's brother Mike. "Gotta See Her Tonight" is bitterness itself, set to a rock-reggae beat "Lost My Love" is a subtly dynamic, slow blues with two great solos that reference Albert King great solos that reference Albert King. And then there's "Last Train To San Antone" with an an architectural guitar solo. Green's guitar leads have become very elliptical, but still have a nice tempo and a nice attack. There is an excellent Rhythm section, Fairport Convention drummer Dave Mattacks in particular impresses, and a top-notch production by Peter Vernon-Kell.
