Underground = LP = (LP)
The last work by Kevin Coyne, recorded between April and October 2004 at Musication Studio Nuremberg. Unfortunately, the artist, who never wanted to be a star, died in December 2004 and was unable to see the release of his work. He was accompanied on the recording by Andreas Blüml and Michael Lipton (acoustic and electric guitar), Harry Hirschmann (bass) and finally Werner Steinhauser on drums, who played a major role in the production.
At the time, nobody could have guessed that this album would be the last of over 50 predecessors. This made it all the more deserving of the German Record Critics' Award, which he was awarded posthumously in 2006. After countless tours and appearances, mainly in his adopted home of Germany, where he had moved to in the 1980s, he left behind a loyal fan base that will never forget the rebellious, sometimes odd but always authentic musician, lyricist, painter and author from the UK. From one of his last interviews before his death: "Writing songs is a bit of a technical exercise, but above all it's a form of self-therapy. Even if I didn't want to break into the league of the stars, it was important to me to make a name for myself."
