Do you like metal? Do you like thrash? Do you like monsters? If you do, this is the album for you! There are just so many guitar riffs, bass effects, growls, screams and underneath all of that, actual melody! This album, by the brothers Gallagher, John and Mark and Joe Hasselvander. They are veterans, and it shows here. They know their way around their instruments, when to tighten up and when to play loose and fast. Yeah, and don't let their time active fool you. They have so much energy and power behind every chord, every drum slam, every note! A friend asked me if they do any ballads. I said they have ballad-like moments. But even when they are slowed down, singer John still keeps this underlying sense of urgency and impatience behind his voice. He's such a unique singer. So many bands from the early 80s wind up slowing down over the year and becoming kind of a husk of their former selves. These guys just seem to keep getting harder and heavier. But again, they maintain that melody and song integrity. The whole album is great, and I've many listenings to go for greater feeling of it all.
