The Rods were first and foremost America's eighties call 'n' response to the greasy Motörhead gang. The New York unwashed three-piece debuted in 1980 with Rock Hard, and chased the stiff release with their self-titled LP in '81. Cranked loud and pushed fast, the leather clad Rods rolled behind ring leader David "Rock" Feinstein's frantic guitar work and vocals onslaught. The in-your-face ten song heavy hitter bangs out one heavy metal cliche after another, as The Rods pack on the ball-bustin' album opener "Power Lover", plus the fist-pumpin' "Crank It Up", the primal "Get Ready to Rock 'n' Roll", the biting "Hungry for Some Love", the down 'n' dirty "Ace in the Hole", and fade to black album closer "Roll With the Night".
