Band of Joy was founded in spring 2004 and consists of the three friends Matti, Anton and Hannes. The music that we experimentally create is quite hard to describe with just a few words since every song differs from the others in style and character. Folk music of different sorts is a big source of inspiration but also surf-music, circus-sounds and traditional jazz are styles that are more or less represented in Band of Joy's repertoire. The songs are musical adventures that lead you all over the world. Sometimes you are at many places at the same time, but do not worry, all songs have happy endings. Above all, Band of Joy is a live-band that suits just as good at festivals, rock-clubs as dancing at a meadow on the countryside. The energy and happiness that we have on stage is something that quickly infects the audience, from the dense forests in northern Sweden to bright Sarajevo in Bosnia in the south.
