The four piece band is a totally new entry in the wonder world of music industry. I suspect that White Elephant Records is their own small label, but the trade mark of Voices of Wonder that's placed behind is a seal of qualitative approval. No need therefore to worry about the level of this band. This is guaranteed. The Norwegian outfit can be classified as a progressive rock band, but some can claim that they are more than this. Yes, why not? Classic rock, psychedelic hard rock, folk rock and whatever you need to describe the seventies sound. Yes Spirits of the Dead are a retro band, but so retro as to understand immediately that they are a contemporary band that revives and forwards a music out of the natural context. Seriously speaking there are countless bands being or trying being retro, but few can achieve this challenge. Forgive my enthusiasm, but Spirits of the Dead surely do. In means of close bands I would say that - though Norwegian - they sound like a mixture of Anekdoten, Morte Macabre and Witchcraft. Now if you open the Grammar of Seventies Rock you will find them speaking syllables from the Doors, King Crimson, Black Sabbath, Caravan and Moody Blues, but all of these are articulated in their own unique way.
