Kory returns with a new, kick-ass line-up-and God knows anthems don't come much trashier than their 'Tokyo Girls Go Bang Bang' and 'I Want Some Pussy'. And yet, at the same time, tracks like 'Ambient Guru', 'Cities, Scenes And Thieves' and even, up to a point, 'The Band Gets High'have those ethereal melodies free-floating over powerfully insistent rhythms that bring early Warrior Soul to mind. Best of all, though, Kory has put together a band - consisting of guitarist/co-writer Johnny Jetson, Bassist Riley Baxter (ex-Tracii Guns Killing Machine) and drummer Stevie Deluxe - who rock like proverbial bastards and who play every note like their lives depended on it, as they power through the album with barley a pause for breath. Relocated from his native New York, Kory recorded 'New Rock Underground' at his new home in LA.
