The brilliant Live-Album ex Jovel in Münster from 1980 ! The Pee Wee Bluesgang passed thousands of gigs in home- and foreign countries. The band not only knows how to enthuse 80,000 fans in Russia but also showed their musical spectrum at concerts with the Philharmonic Orchestra Südwestfalen. Whether Bluesfestival or Classic Event, the PeeWees are fascinating the humans. What has started 1977 as a blues Coverband (at that time with the ZOFF-singer Reiner Hänsch at piano and mic) nowadays is one of the eldest bluesbands at all. Sireena Records is happy to be allowed to publish another album for the first time on cd containing the turbulent beginnings of the band. After singer/piano player Reiner Hänsch left the band 1979 in order to found the band ZOFF, the already well known singer Richard Hagel joined the Pee Wee Bluesgang. This step was remarkable for the further career-development of the band because Hagel is equipped with a bluesvoice and presence which one hardly find again in Europe. A born frontman who fills every stage. With him at the microphone the rapid rise of the Bluesrockband began, at that time besides Mastermind Thomas Hesse (guitar) and Richard Hagel (vocals) consisting of Rüdiger Schilling (drums), Heribert Grothe (bass) and keyboards by Stefan Janke from Iserlohn. On April 10th, 1980, Pee Wee Bluesgang had again a gig at the iconic venue of Steffi Stephan, viz. the Jovel in Münster. Steffi, who was bassplayer at Udo Lindenbergs' Panik Orchester used this opportunity to tape this fetching performance. As there was no label interested to publish this tape, the band and management published the vinyl by themselves. A good idea, this way 8 titles of this awesome performance have been preserved on vinyl. Now, more than 30 years later, the resurgence is following - for the first time on cd. A great document which proves their love to play music as well as the virtuosity of the Pee Wee Bluesgang very impressive.
