The Scaramanga Six have been a relentless force in the UK underground scene but, maybe as their sound is so hard to classify, they're likely to be unfamiliar to most. Yet, Paul and Steven Morricone and Julia Amez have been making waves in their native Leeds since the 90s. 'Cursed' is their sixth full length, or fifth if you prefer... The recording of this album started in 2007 with legendary producer and Cardiacs frontman Tim Smith, who later fell ill bringing things to an end. The work was complete and the first single 'Walking through Houses' already released, yet the band opted for quickly getting together a completely new set of material, which would become their official fifth full length 'Songs of Prey'. There was now a 'lost album' in The Scaramanga Six drawer, an album that deserved to see the light after all, so the band hired this time Alan Smyth (Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, 65 Days Of Static and more) for an ambitious remake. 'Cursed' is the product of an ill fated musical venture.
