Do = LP, Clear Vinyl = (LP)
Thirty years ago, in 1985, Mekanik Kommando find themselves in limbo. With Lasika Panyigay and Mirjam van Hout leaving, the band is de facto a family affair with remaining brothers Simon and Peter van Vliet. Without a record deal (after EMI's refusal to issue the follow up to 1984's Bay The Moon) but with new spirit welcomed by the addition of Jack Kaat, Mekanik Kommando starts exploring a more human territory and begins recording new material, resulting in two classic albums Shadow Of A Rose (1986) and The Castle Of Fair Welcome (1988) which marks the official end of Mekanik Kommando and the beginning of The Use Of Ashes. The first sketch of all this was found on Do, an audio cassette recorded at Bonner Loch, Bonn, West Germany, late 1985, during a tour with theatre group Die Raben. The cassette comes out early 1986 - and is the first on the band's self owned Rosebud Records label. Reportedly only 50 copies of this cassette were ever dubbed making it the rarest Mekanik Kommando release.
