Chori's Bundle isn't a pretty record -- its lyrical content and forceful playing style assure that -- but it's nonetheless a beautiful record. With the assuredness that comes from the truly experienced, Chris Mack has applied his rock knowledge to folk in an astonishing manner. Mack has reignited interest in the '60s folk sound, thanks to his skillful, finger picked guitar compositions. But his style is aggressively original, shooting off into tangents at some points, circling around a melodic phrase at others. Chori's Bundle is the culmination of Mack's musical discoveries.
