The full-length debut of Scott Weinrich's earliest project The Obsessed is a competent combination of stoner rock and doom metal that seems relatively genuine. Apart from the drum sound the production of this recording has an authentic 90's garage rocking feel to it. Far from desolate or depressive, despite what you might get from Weinrich's lyrics, this music is warm, inviting and accessible. The laid back nature of these songs give a somewhat apathetic vibe and in turn I don't have strong feelings about it. The follow up "Lunar Womb" would be the one and only release from all of Weinrich's projects that is unarguably essential. This debut album is not so essential, but it is one hell of a chilled out jam.
