Finnish speed freaks Norther return to the music scene with their new E.P., Solution 7. Whenever I hear these guys I cannot help but be reminded of fellow Scandinavians Children of Bodom, and Kalmah. At first listen, Norther could be classified as a plain old copycat of these bands. But Solution 7 shows that Norther adds a unique style to the "Bodom" sound. Vocalist Petri Lindroos utilizes both clean and harsh vocals for the very first time in this E.P., which contrast very nicely. Guitar solos are abundant here, as the shredding is nothing to be ashamed of. If you avoid comparing the band to Children of Bodom, Norther is a very enjoyable band. All in all, this E.P. is a solid listen.
