Guitarists Marty Friedman and Jason Becker formed the first duel shred guitar-driven progressive metal band, Cacophony in 1987. Soon afterward, they embarked on individual solo albums, each featuring stunning shred guitar instrumentals. Dragon's Kiss was Marty's first solo record, released on Shrapnel this album paved the way for many other artists over the last twenty years. Having amassed worldwide acclaim as an incredibly talented guitarist, Marty came to the attention of Megadeth...the rest, as they say, is history.
