Break Away (CD)
Overland might come across to you as a new name on the AOR front, but when I tell you that the man in question is nobody else than Steve Overland, I'm sure you'll realise that I'm talking about the vocalist who fronted bands like Wildlife and (the mighty) FM, before he moved on to current acts like The Ladder and Shadowman (with Steve Morris). What we have here is Steve's debut solo outing, for which he got a lot of help from Anders Rydholm ... yes, the one we all know from excellent Swedish bands like Promotion, Grand Illusion and - more recently - Code (featuring Sherwood Ball). Rydholm provided the music for "Break Away", while Overland wrote the lyrics and the result is an album full of high quality, easy on the ear AOR songs, that allow us to enjoy Steve's typical vocal pipes to the max.
