LA Guns. "Live Ammo" is a recording of the reunion concert LA Guns gave in 1999 in its original line-up, in the Key Club in Los Angeles. So Tracii Guns and Mick Cripps on guitar, Kelly Nickels on bass, Steve Riley on drums and singer Phil Lewis. This line-played on the first three cd's ("LA Guns", "Cocked and Loaded" en "Hollywood Vampires") so it normal that the majority of the material comes from those three discs. Only "Long Time Dead" and "Nothing Better To Do" are taken from later albums. All the hits from the band's heyday are present: "Sex Action", "Electric Gypsy" and "Ballad of Jane". The sound quality is good, the playing solid, the singing not entirely in tune, but what did we expect? This is Phil Lewis. In general the sound tends to be more punk than glam rock, but that sits very well with this band. "Live Ammo" is a good, solid record overall.
